Ethical Wills Seminars and Writing Workshops

The ancient tradition of writing ethical wills is undergoing a revival as people increasingly want to convey their values, beliefs, hopes, life lessons, love, forgiveness, and perhaps even instructions to family and friends.

Members of the clergy, legal and financial professions are beginning to appreciate the benefits of ethical wills and to recommend the practice.

"Writing an ethical will places our lives in the broader context of continuity; a linkage from past to future generations...Many of us try to live our values on a day to day basis, but sometimes we don't succeed as often as we'd like to. By documenting the values that are important to us, we can focus on them and, at the same time, clarify our belief system for our families...It is easier to write a will of inheritance and a living will when you know what principles are important to you." - Barry K. Baines, MD

In 2007 Donna Kenny completed the training program in the facilitation of ethical wills, in Boston, MA that was conducted by Barry K. Baines, MD, Chief Medical Officer of UCare, Minnesota and Associate Medical Director of Hospice of the Twin Cities, Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Clio Associates offers a range of ethical will seminars and writing workshops. Topics typically include:

  • What Is an Ethical Will and What Is It Not?
  • A History of Ethical Wills
  • Who Should Write an Ethical Will?
  • Why/When/How Does One Write an Ethical Will?
  • Examples and Resources for Ethical Wills
  • Alternative Options for Creating Your Ethical Will
  • Sharing and Preserving Your Ethical Will

Seminars and workshops are available for all professional organizations, community groups and private individuals. Please email or call Clio Associates for complete information.
